There will be pointed ends. So as far as maximizing space is concerned, a circular crock pot may not be the best option for you if you’re cooking poultry. An oval crock pot would be better in order to accommodate the size and shape of chicken and other poultries.
But apart from the shape, what changed? This is a valid concern since as mentioned; the circular crock pots are already very effective.
You’re probably concerned that a lot of other things changed that will affect the results. You’ll be glad to know that nothing else changed. For example, the Rival 5.5-qt. Smart-Pot Crock-Pot Slow Cooker still uses the same process of cooking. Even if they’re oval in shape, they basically produce the same results.
The only difference is they’re more equipped to handle certain shapes of foods. It’s a good brand with a huge capacity. It can easily handle a 6-pound roast that is enough to feed 6 to 8 hungry people.
A crockpot, no matter the shape, can produce moist and tender food with minimal preparations. But if you’re looking for something that can effectively handle poultries and other similarly shaped foods, an oval crockpot is the better choice.
