VitaClay VM7900-8 Review
We had heard a lot about the VitaClay’s award winning design that used clay pots rather than aluminium cooking bowls and so decided to take the plunge with the VitaClay VM7900-8 to see what all the hoopla is all about. Our multi cooker arrived only two days after having ordered it from Amazon and it came well packaged.
Everything was in proper condition and the instruction booklet had sufficient information with recipes to get us going. It even detailed the differences between this multi cooker and conventional aluminium or stainless steel cooking bowls so that we know what changes to do when cooking homemade recipes in it.
The very first thing that caught our attention was its fully programmable yet convenient control panel. You simply have to set the timer and choose between the rice, slow cooker or yoghurt option to start cooking. Since we had not yet tried any multi-cooker that could make yoghurt; this was the first thing we decided to do in the VitaClay VM7900-8.
Having no idea how to recreate the perfect probiotic yoghurt, we got studying with the recipe/instruction manual and understood the exact process. Its actually very easy and properly detailed in the guidebook. The yoghurt you make in the VitaClay VM7900-8 is naturally probiotic because it uses clay pots that preserve nutrients and enzymes. Next, we gave it rice to cook and that too was just perfect.
A word of caution though, trying to remove the clay pots when they are hot will be difficult because they tend to heat up near the rims so its better wearing an oven glove when handling the hot clay pots.
Slow cooking is not something that we were really interested in with the VitaClay VM7900-8 but when we did eventually try to recreate our homemade recipe of duck with pineapple sauce, it was done in just 3 hours and tasted much more fuller than ever before. This multi cooker truly is efficient and quick.
The size of the clay pots too are large enough to take in about 6 large chicken wings or 5 duck legs. Washing up afterwards is very simple with this multi cooker. It involves dipping the clay pots in a luke warm soap solution and rinsing well afterwards. As for the metal exterior or the multi cooker base, a simple wipe dry is all that is necessary.

Our Final Verdict
The VitaClay VM7900-8 is a multi cooker that you have never seen before. On the outside it looks and feels like any conventional multi cooker but open the lid and the clay pots inside gives it a refreshing breath of air. It makes excellent rice, yoghurt and when needed can also slow cook.
